Gmail

Security checks for vulnerabilities and agentic risk

Overview

This Gmail skill is mostly coherent, but it should be reviewed because it combines broad mailbox authority with an unsafe remote-script CLI installer path.

Review before installing. Use this only if you trust OOMOL with Gmail connector access, and do not let the agent run the installer command blindly; prefer reviewed/manual installation steps and require explicit approval for any send, update, delete, forwarding, filter, label, or settings change.

Vulnerability Patterns
  • Skill Instruction HijackingAlters the agent's session goals or safety constraints when the skill loads
  • Agent Memory PoisoningWrites attacker-controlled rules into memory that affect later sessions
  • Remote Payload Retrieval and ExecutionFetches external code whose behavior can change after review
  • Embedded Malicious CodeShips malicious scripts inside the skill and executes them locally
  • Unauthorized Access and Privilege EscalationObtains permissions beyond the task's legitimate needs
Vulnerability Patterns
  • Supply ChainUnpinned Dependencies, External Script Fetching, Obfuscated Code
  • Trigger AbuseOverly Broad Trigger, Shadow Command Trigger, Keyword Baiting Trigger
  • Prompt InjectionInstruction Override, Hidden Instructions, Exfiltration Commands
  • Data ExfiltrationExternal Transmission, Env Variable Harvesting, File System Enumeration
  • Privilege EscalationExcessive Permissions, Sudo/Root Execution, Credential Access

External Script Fetching

High
Category
Supply Chain
Confidence
98% confidence
Finding

The skill instructs the agent to install software using a remote script piped directly into a shell, which is a classic supply-chain risk. If the remote host, transport, or published script is compromised, arbitrary code would execute immediately on the user's system with the agent facilitating it.

Vague Triggers

Confidence
95% confidence
Finding

The skill description says to use this skill for ANY Gmail request and instead of calling the API directly, which creates an overly broad trigger surface. That can cause the agent to invoke a high-privilege skill for incidental Gmail-related mentions, increasing the chance of unintended reads, writes, or destructive operations in a mailbox.
